jwtSome people say advertisement is a big waste of money with the advent of social media but I do not agree with that statement. It is an important part of marketing and there’s no escape from that fact. There are some that are created so professionally becomes an art on itself. Unfortunately, this usually isn’t the case these days.

In my opinion, advertisements are part of our economic system that we can’t do without. Relevant ads that appeal to you are sometimes very useful; informing you on new products or services that you wouldn’t know of. On the other hand, there are others which are intrusive and downright stupid.

In order to get advertising back in line, JWT’s Sean Boyle came out with a 10 step plan to do so. At the 4As Transformer conference in San Francisco; attended by             the brightest and outspoken minds of the advertising industry, the global planning director at JWT gave an outstanding presentation on his Stop-Start Ten Commandments.

The following video roughly shows Sean Boyle’s 4As Transformer speech.

Here are Sean Boyle’s 10 steps to fix advertising:

1. Start telling the truth
2. Stop the politics
3. Start having fun again
4. Stop over thinking things
5. Start doing some research
6. Stop the incessant research
7. Start doing good
8. Stop banging on about digital
9. Start ups again please
10. Stop using animals in commercials
